I have created cake pops for two separate occasions. One was for my daughter's 2nd birthday and the other was for my boyfriends mother (She turned 50). The cake pops are not difficult to make! It is just a very long process!

appreciation is key in child rearing
No parent is perfect. But, a kid who never "wants" never knows the value of a reward. They never know the concept of respect, responsibility and appreciation

Sweet little feet
My sweet girl is growing so fast! She had a photo shoot this weekend. This picture just touches my heart. She had so much fun running around barefoot BUT when it came down to it.... she thought that her dirty feet were, "ewww, nasty". The way she says it is priceless and I can not get enough of it. I used Picasa to edit this photo. It is black and white with a focal point. Also, my sweet girl LOVES to show affection with her feet (like her mom!). She will rub her feet all over you just to show you she is there and that she cares. I do the same thing! She is my little mini when it comes to personality and habits! She does have some of her daddy's traits too though! I just love little feet!!

I have been so busy!
I am working on creating my daughters 2nd Birthday party, working and going to school! Please be patient! I will add pictures of my progress! My goal this year is to make everything that I possibly can!
I have made her purple and white tutu with a yellow accent bow. I am working on creating adorable cake pops for party favors. Her party is going to be in plum and mustard (fancy for yellow and purple!)! I researching how to make her a pinata. I plan on making the cupcakes, toppers, and creating as many decorations as possible!

I look forward to sharing them with you! I have goals that I need to achieve before my daughter turns 2 and these cupcakes, breads, and cream cheese danishes are not helping:) Any ideas?

Banana Nut Bread
I have never made bread before. There were some bananas that were about to go bad so I decided to try. This was easy and fun! The little girl I nanny enjoyed mashing the bananas and adding the dry ingredients! The outcome was a very moist and delicious loaf of bread! I wanted to steer toward a healthier more organic recipe but I am new at this and I don't know exactly how to substitute and I had to work with what was available.
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1-2tsp nutmeg
1 Tbs cinnamon
1 cup walnuts
3/4 cup sugar in the raw
1/4cup applesauce
1/2 cup milk (organic)
1/4 cup Creme Bruvee Caramel Vanilla Creamer
1 cup (3 large) bananas
Preheat oven to 350 Degrees F.
Thoroughly mix dry ingriedents. In seperate bowl mix wet ingedients. Slowly combine the wet to the dry stirring constantly. Put in a loaf pan and bake for 50-55 minutes. The top will be golden brown.
I loved it! I hope you do as well!

Super Bowl
The long awaited Super Bowl is just days away. I planned on having guests but it is hard to entertain in a small apartment with a baby sleeping! We shall see if it works out to have a small intimate group offriends over. Can't have rowdy yelling men waking up sweet little girl!
On the menu
Carrots with Ranch
Honey BBQ Wings
Loaded Nachos
Pigs in a Blanket
Small Football cake (possibly)
Beer
Wine
Maybe it will just be us and then we can minimize the food to healthier options!
I am looking forward to the commercials
We may have a bet on the score, and best commercial just to make it fun!
I look forward to creating a fun arrangement! Let's see what I can do!

Organic Carrot Cupcakes with Homemade Cream Cheese frosting
My next work of food art will be a carrot cupcake with a twist. I will be researching recipes and putting my own spin on them. I hope to develop a cupcake that is definitive of my style but also I would like to create a cupcake that is healthier than most:) working on alternative ingredients to decrease the fat! My waist line has increased in the past few weeks due to this "cupcake obsession"!!!

Work in Progress
Okay, apparently I got lost in the excitement of making my own hair bows for my daughter that I didn't realize that the bows were too big! Then, as I studied the pictures I realized that I needed to work on them some more! I am okay with that...considering the pictures are the first two bows I have ever made in my entire life! I will be working on them this weekend and posting pictures as the days go by. I am going to make: Saints, Tarheels, Steelers and some polka dots and flowers! Wish me luck! If they are good I am going to sell them for the ever so affordable $3.00 a piece! So, if you are interested leave me a comment and I will contact you via email.

55th Birthday...A day of surprises filled with LOVE
On the 30th, many people will share in the celebration of one of my wonderful bosses, Dr.E! She is turning the ever young 55! I wanted to make her return home from her wonderful "surprise dinner" just as fantastic! Her family secretly flew in from New York! SO, I had to make due with what was at their house for decorations. As you can see....we had Valentines Day themed items! But, it turned out well considering I wasn't fully prepared! Pictures will be posted as soon as I get access to my computer!

Live by design, not by accident
I am excited to discover new talents and share them with you. I have surfed the web and have started to brainstorm all the things that I would like to do! I made my first bow which will be finished soon as a hair bow for my daughter! I am also hoping to discover my photography talents! I have slowly tried to cook and develop my own recipes and go outside of the box! I look forward to sharing my experiences with you!
Cupcake Obsession
I just recently started thinking about my daughters 2nd Birthday. It is in June and I need to be prepared! So, I have been searching for the theme that I could use. I came across these wonderful cupcake ideas. Ever since...I have been obsessed! I dream about trying out new ideas. I think that taste is very important but I feel tat the presentation needs to be eye catching. I am trying to get it all right! I made my first batch of Strawberry Banana Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting in a Ice Cream Cone! They were a hit. I will post pictures soon! I am hoping to use this blog as a way to remember and pass on all the things that I try. I hope that you enjoy what you see! Pictures will come soon. I have to upload them My inspiration was from www.TheTomKatStudio.com.
